Summer School Ends, New Year Begins
Wonderful opportunities are lining up for A Step Beyond's (ASB's) third year of serving North County San Diego's youth. ASB is expanding our partnerships, introducing new learning opportunities and preparing for our next cohort of students. This year opens up more opportunities for the community to get involved. Join us in our goal to stop the cycle of poverty by helping children from low-income families achieve academic and artistic success, enabling them to reach for a future of their choice.

Summer STEAM Success: Over 50 students participated in ASB's Summer STEAM Program. Students participated in a meditation opening, project-based literacy and math learning, visual arts integration and a creative dance class focused on nature-based sensory development. Attendance was outstanding and students were sad to see the program end.

ASB 2016 Annual Auditions: Last year 160 families lined up for A Step Beyond's Annual Dance Audition. This year we expect even more in attendance. On Saturday, October 15th ASB will accept another class of approximately 40 third and fourth grade students into our dance-based youth development program. Families must show financial need to qualify. At this point, ASB will be serving over 100 students with a ten year commitment to provide daily dance, academic and family services.

This year, dance instruction will be provided by Faith Jensen-Ismay and MOJALET Dance Collective.
