VASPA Fall Teacher Job Fair will be held in Richmond on Thursday afternoon, November 12. It is a great event for Curry December 2015 graduates and early job search starters! Information for prospective job fair attendees and registration is available at the VASPA website. As in past years, participation is completely free for all attendees, and 40+ Virginia school divisions are expected to be represented.

Tye River Elementary is seeking substitute teachers. Kristina Ormsby (Curry ’15) writes, “I just graduated May of this year in the BAMT program and I now work at Tye River Elementary as a fifth grade teacher. We have an AWFUL time finding substitute teachers; I assume because of the location. It is about a 35 min drive from Charlottesville. [I am hoping to] get the word out to students (particularly next semester, after student teaching) that Tye River needs substitutes if people are interested? Augusta Health Care, Inc. seeks a Director of Women's Services. This position will overseeing the Obstetrical and Pediatric Units comprised of 8 Labor rooms, 12 post-partum rooms, and 1 C section room. In this Role, the Director will implement and lead effective process management, resource management and unit scheduling. As the Director, the successful candidate will establish a collaborative and reliable relationship amongst the staff and physicians, ensuring that departmental goals are continuously met. NEW - Bridgeport Public Schools in Bridgepoint, CT, seeks to hire a School Psychologist. Fordham University Department of Psychology seeks to hire an Associate or Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include: teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, developing an independent program of research and mentoring students’ masters and doctoral level research. Applicants with a strong track record of publication in any area of psychometrics and quantitative psychology are encouraged to apply. Evaluation of candidates will begin on October19, 2015 and will continue until the position is filled.

The California State University Office of the Chancellor seeks a Senior Dashboard Data Scientist. This role serves as the technical leader of the CSU Student Success Dashboard team, working with CO departments and campus users to determine functional report requirements write technical specifications based on user requirements, develop and implement predictive analytic algorithms, and build and validate descriptive and predictive models. The incumbent will also organize, implement, and oversee the data gathering, cleaning, analyses, and report-building processes for the CSU Student Success Dashboard.

Qualifications include a Master's degree in social science (Education, Psychology, Psychometrics, Sociology, Public Health, Economics, etc.), Mathematics or Information Systems (Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, etc.), or in another field of science utilizing quantitative approaches to model population level data. Doctoral degree is preferred.
