VASPA Fall Teacher Job Fair will be held in Richmond on Thursday afternoon, November 12. It is a great event for Curry December 2015 graduates and early job search starters! Information for prospective job fair attendees and registration is available at the VASPA website. As in past years, participation is completely free for all attendees, and 40+ Virginia school divisions are expected to be represented.

We have an AWFUL time finding substitute teachers; I assume because of the location. It is about a 35 min drive from Charlottesville. [I am hoping to] get the word out to students (particularly next semester, after student teaching) that Tye River needs substitutes if people are interested? NEW - Augusta Health Care, Inc. seeks a Director of Women's Services. This position will overseeing the Obstetrical and Pediatric Units comprised of 8 Labor rooms, 12 post-partum rooms, and 1 C section room. In this Role, the Director will implement and lead effective process management, resource management and unit scheduling. As the Director, the successful candidate will establish a collaborative and reliable relationship amongst the staff and physicians, ensuring that departmental goals are continuously met. This role will also be an advocate for innovative change throughout the units, and will continue to develop a strong induction for new staff in order to maintain strong units to best serve the community.

NEW - The California State University Office of the Chancellor seeks a Senior Dashboard Data Scientist. This role serves as the technical leader of the CSU Student Success Dashboard team, working with CO departments and campus users to determine functional report requirements write technical specifications based on user requirements, develop and implement predictive analytic algorithms, and build and validate descriptive and predictive models. The incumbent will also organize, implement, and oversee the data gathering, cleaning, analyses, and report-building processes for the CSU Student Success Dashboard.

Qualifications include a Master's degree in social science (Education, Psychology, Psychometrics, Sociology, Public Health, Economics, etc.), Mathematics or Information Systems (Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, etc.), or in another field of science utilizing quantitative approaches to model population level data. Doctoral degree is preferred.

Arizona State University seeks an Director and Full Professor for the Division Director of Teacher Preparation. They seek an individual with a strong research program that focuses on studying and improvising teacher education at all levels from initial certification to in-service professional development as well as through graduate education. The college has a strong emphasis on improving the preparation of teachers through field-based programs, post baccalaureate programs, professional development and outreach activities, and close collaboration with school districts. In addition to initial certification programs, the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College provides graduate programs at the MA, MEd, PhD and EdD level in a number of areas. Both undergraduate and graduate education takes place on four campuses and at school-based sites.

New Leaders in Newport, MA is looking for a Research Intern to conduct a focused literature review on the principal role in Common Core implementation and maintain our database of school leadership literature.
