OCL Picnic in the Park
Come enjoy Oliver’s green space by having a picnic with your neighbours. Meet some friends, renew your community league membership, and have some lemonade on us! Please help us reduce waste by bringing your reusable cup. Below is a list of locations we’ll be visiting here in Oliver:
June 13 at Oliver Park
July 11 at Pocket Park beside the Pearl
August 15 at Monsignor William Irwin Park
*all Picnics in the Park will take place from 6-8 p.m.
Bicycle Show & Shine
The concept is similar to a car show...but with bicycles! Come for a bike ride, bike repair, bike ogling, and more. Great prizes worth $100s for: Vintage, Restoration, Family Haul, Custom Build, Rare & Unique, and Sport bikes.
Odd Company Brewing, Oliver's newest brewery, will be hosting a beer garden along with food from Black Box Hospitality (of Speedy Burrito).

Canada Day Pancake Breakfast
Come celebrate Canada Day with your fellow neighbours and grab your membership card if you don’t have it already. We’ll have FREE pancakes for everyone!

OCL Pub Crawl
Thanks to all the Oliver community members who attended the May 17 OCL Pub Crawl. We had a great time and we look forward to future events in the coming summer. Stay tuned for the next pub crawl!
Green Shacks are coming to Kitchener Park until August 22 The City of Edmonton’s Green Shacks will be coming back to our community playgrounds this summer. Join in on games, sports, crafts, music, drama, special events, and more!
Green Shack Programs run from July 2 - August 22 at various locations around the city. The Oliver Green Shack Program will take place in Kitchener Park from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Mon-Fri.

Have Coffee with a Cop
Join the Edmonton Police Service at McDonald’s in Oliver Square for their monthly Coffee with a Cop on the third Wednesday of each month. Help reduce waste by bringing your own reusable cup. Everyone is welcome to sit in, and speak with a constable in a casual setting and ask any policing questions.
*all Coffee with a Cop events take place from 10-11 a.m.

The City Plan and Zoning Bylaw Renewal are hosting a series of public engagement events in June, inviting Edmontonians to explore the choices our city faces as we grow to a city of two million people. Each event features opportunities to learn and help develop the direction of the City Plan and upcoming Zoning Bylaw Renewal.

Take a Ride with the Bike Street Team
Every Saturday from now until September 28, the City of Edmonton Bike Street Team is offering free guided bike rides of Edmonton’s southside and downtown protected bike routes. The bike rides will depart the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market at 10 a.m.

Winners of the OCL Design Contest We thank all of our entrants for participating in the OCL Design Contest. Congratulations to our winners Matt and Landon Turlock for their design, which imagined a space for multiple generations that pays homage to the park, the people and the history.
Updates from Peace Garden Park
FREE COMPOST! The Peace Garden Park had a delivery of compost, and we have lots to spare! Provided by Cleanit Greenit, this compost is double screened and is specifically for use in your veggie and flower beds. Please help yourself to some of the pile located outside of our storage bins!

The compost bins on site at Peace Garden Park accepts your kitchen scraps! If you intend to use them, please follow these simple rules:
Please note: Our compost bins take a lot of time and energy to maintain. If these rules are not respected, we will need to restrict their use for only the garden. Thank you for your understanding, and happy composting!
