Oliver residents celebrated Canada Day together with fellow family members, friends and neighbours on Monday, July 1, 2019, over free pancakes prepared by our elected officials, MP Randy Boissonnault, MLA David Shepherd and Councillor Scott McKeen.
We’d also like to thank MLA David Shepherd, Save-on-Foods (Jasper Ave. & Mayfield), London Drugs (Oliver Square), Shoppers Drug Mart (Oliver Square), Starbucks Coffee (Brewery District and 112 St. & 102 Ave.), Circle K (104 Ave.) and Loblaws City Market (Brewery District) for their generous donations.

What: Open Streets is a one-day event opening Edmonton’s iconic Jasper Avenue to walking, biking and rolling. It's being led by Paths for People, a local non-profit championing an Edmonton that’s human-centred by design.
When: Sunday, August 25, 2019 (event runs 10 a.m.-3 p.m.)
Where: 1 ¼ kilometers in downtown Edmonton
Jasper Avenue from 109 - 103 Street
108 Street south between Jasper Avenue + Plaza
104 Street north between Jasper Avenue + 102 Avenue
The streets on the route will be closed to motor-vehicle traffic and open to people - think paved parks for everyone.

Take a Ride with the Bike Street Team
Every Saturday until September 28, the City of Edmonton Bike Street Team is offering free guided bike rides of Edmonton’s south side and downtown protected bike routes. The bike rides will depart from the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market at 10 a.m.
The tours last approximately 1.5 hours.
This is one of the city’s Vision Zero initiatives to help people drive, bike and walk around Edmonton safely.

This summer, YEGyouth will be continuing the youth drop-in program in 6 Recreation Centres and 3 Community Locations for teens ages 13-17 years. YEGyouth will also be hosting 8 Citywide Youth Events, one per week for July and August!
