Happy December!

December heralds in the holiday season for many of us.  This year the League is taking a break over the latter part of December to enjoy the holidays.  While we won't be holding our monthly pub crawl this month, we are hosting a potluck to toast in the season.

Wishing you and yours a delightful end to 2016.

Holiday Community Potluck

Saturday, December 3
5-8 pm at the Hall, 10326-118 Street

Bring your favourite seasonal dish to share and join neighbours in a meal.
Our collaborative magazine, The Yards, is turning two.  We have worked diligently to co-create a magazine the represents our league and life in the core of our city. It's been challenging and rewarding, and definitely hard work.  We're proud of our magazine and hope you are, too!

The launch for our next issue takes place December 8 from 6-9:30 pm at CKUA. (9804 Jasper Avenue)  Topic for the launch is FUTURE TOWERS.  Forecasters predict a crises for Edmonton's office vacancies, so how can they be salvaged and converted into housing or amenities that serve core residents? Join the discussion with the City's long-time downtown expert Duncan Fraser, Alyssa Lefaivre of DIRTT Environmental Solutions and EEDC's Jimmy Shewchuk. Get your seat at: Tickets

Look for the Winter issue in your mailboxes this week!
The City of Edmonton is hosting their Imagine Jasper Ave Open House today, November 30, from 4:30-8:30 at Oliver school. If you'd like to have a say in how Jasper Ave is developed, it's free to attend and it would be great to have the input of as many Oliver residents as possible.
Our MP, Randy Boissonnault, is hosting a Winter Open House.
Saturday, December 17 at 1 pm - 4 pm
10235 124 St NW

Have you noticed the new stop sign in our neighbourhood?  We pushed for a 3-way stop at 102 Ave & 111 St to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
Thanks to Dustin Martin, our Civics Director, and Lisa Brown, our President, for spearheading this.

All is Bright Festival on November 19 was a great opportunity for us to spend some time with our community.  Thank you to our volunteers: Luwam (Membership Director), Lisa (President), Angelika (Volunteer Director) and Colleen, who braved the cold to bring OCL to the streets.  '
