OCL Social Advocacy presents “Your Rights as a Tenant” on September 16

In collaboration with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre, OCL’s Social Advocacy Committee is holding a tenants’ rights workshop. Learn all about your rights as a tenant from an expert!

When: September 16, 6-8 p.m.

Where: Grace Lutheran Church (9907 – 114 Street)

Light refreshments will be provided.

Child minding is available to parents who are members of the Oliver Community League (memberships can be obtained on site for free).

Should you require child minding, please RSVP to by September 13 to ensure appropriate supervision.

Oliverbaun Bike & Walk Parade

The Oliver Community League is holding the first annual Oliverbaun Bike & Walk Parade. Decorate your bike, wagon, scooter, skateboard and walker. 

There will be games, prizes, food, and music – guaranteed fun for the whole family!

Where: Kitchener Park, 10230 114 St.

When: September 21, 12-5 p.m.

Food will be free for Oliver Community League members.

Non-OCL members will be charged $5 for food.

August Events Recap: Seniors Tea, 10-year Peace Garden anniversary Seniors’ Tea

We had a great time in August!

On August 17, Over 80 community members attended our Seniors’ Afternoon Tea and 10-year Peace Garden anniversary.

On August 18, we had over a dozen cheerers show up at the Servus marathon throughout the day and kept on cheering until the last runners finished the marathon.

Addiction & Mental Health Access Now Available 24/7

In June 2019, the Royal Alexandra Hospital launched #OneDoorYeg – a centralized and integrated intake location that offers one door of entry for mental health support to all residents of Edmonton, the surrounding communities, and even beyond.

Building Community Through Recreation

Building Community Through Recreation (BCTR) is a program that supports neighbourhoods and local organizations to utilize recreation to build community connections.

BCTR is hosting several network events to create an opportunity and ‘space’ for community groups and other local organizations to connect about recreation needs and develop capacity in their neighbourhoods.

Free Admission Day is back for 2019!

There will be free fun for everyone at participating City of Edmonton recreation centres, attractions and cultural facilities on Sunday September 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.*

*Some exceptions apply. Please check website for the list of participating facilities and hours of operation.

'Free Admission Day' does not apply to other City of Edmonton services.
