Make the most of the madness and go see a show! There's also lots happening at choir so here's an update.
Marion Celebrates 25th March
Vocalize Choir is scheduled to perform at 5pm, so please gather at the Marion Cultural Centre at 4:15pm (side of stage). Due to a prior commitment, Sally Hyam will conduct in my absence. For all queries on the day, please see Jen Burford who will be acting assistant director. Please dress in all blacks and minimize accessories. There will be no secure space at the venue to leave your valuables so please minimise handbags and other items where possible. Carpooling or public transport is encouraged, as the venue will be very busy on the day.
St Elizabeth Church - Fundraiser Performance 21st May
On Sunday 21st May we will be performing at a fundraiser for St Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Warradale. They have requested 2 sets as well as a couple of solo numbers. If you would like to perform a solo song could you please let me know ASAP so that we can compile a draft program.
Adelaide Eisteddfod June 2017
This year Vocalize will be making its debut in the Open Choir Division at the Adelaide Eisteddfod. While the date and venue are yet to be confirmed, it will be a great experience for us to perform in this context and receive feedback from adjudicator (and esteemed conductor, educator and composer) Carl Crossin OAM.
With our wonderful growing numbers, the choir committee is looking into the cost of acquiring a set of portable choir risers for use during performances. This will give the choir a professional look, and enhance visibility for all singers. We'll update you on the progress of this as it develops.
That's about all for now, looking forward to singing with you soon!
