Workout. Anywhere.

This week, I want you to pamper yourself and take your pleasure seriously! Have fun and take a few moments to appreciate the little things in life that are making you happy these days. What makes you smile? Do more of that!

As for me, I've got yoga and trail running on my workout agenda for the week. As many of you know, both those things make me very happy!

After that run, ride, or 108 Sun Salutations (see you Tuesday night), let your body and, in particular, your muscles have a little break. Take a bubble bath or make an appointment for some body work at Elite. Recovery is just as important as your training. So train hard, but then enjoy the recovery.

Our workouts this week will again challenge your body and mind. Come sweat a little sweeter with me!

This Tuesday, December 22nd, we will celebrate the Winter Solstice with 108 sun salutations at 7:30pm.
Join me at the Jewish Community Center (5520 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109) for this amazing and transformative practice.
And check out this article for a little more about the significance of 108.

This is the perfect way to pamper yourself and truly enjoy the pleasures of life. This is a FREE event, so bring your family and friends to share in the joy of the season.

Wednesday, December 23rd, we will continue with our yoga workshop at 212 Tulane SE at 6:30pm.

Remember, if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you!

All the Best,

Maya

Wellness is wholeness -
we are complete when our mind, body and spirit connect deeply with the earth's abundance.

What we eat fuels not only our workouts, but our lives.

Pomegranates are one of my favorite additions to any holiday recipe. Not only for their vibrant color and flavor, but for their antioxidant rich health benefits.

For Christmas, my family and extended family of friends do things a little differently. We don't do the traditional Christmas ham, but rather, we pick a country and make the traditional food of that place.

This year we are breaking out the boldly colored saris and cooking East Indian food.
Here's one of the dishes I'll be making along with another holiday favorite.

Chole (Chana) Masala

Pistachio Cardamom Butter Cookies

What fuels your holidays?

I hope you and yours have a beautiful holiday season.
Thank you so much for your support of Urban Fyt!
