It's been awhile since we've connected this way

Hello, Friends! Since December 10, I’ve been happily busy here among my friends in Tepic, and continually meeting new friends by divine appointment. The projects you already know about are continuing, but the big one flowering and fruiting now integrates them and uses all I have learned over my 25 years coming and going between Oregon and Nayarit.

This big project embraces and benefits all my people here, AND you folks at home. Summer Spanish Immersion 2019 can be an individual, family or group effort AND can earn school credit or PDU’s (professional development). It is service and learning for both Oregon and Tepic communities. Dream big. Short term mission trips, family reunions, art retreats, and more abroad can earn school credit with community service! Once piloted and refined, this kind of program can apply to other destintions and people. Your help, prayer, and sharing will go a long way towards making this adaptable adventure available to others. You can designate funds towards any part you like of this endeavor at
The flyer above and the Syllabus/Program and draft Application/Checklist are linked. Please share them with all you think might be interested. The adventure is adjustable in time frame and curriculum. Tepic is a "real" Mexican city, not a tourist destination, but there are many attractions you can see at the website, AND it's only 20 minutes to the beach.
I would be honored to share with your group in person about my work in Tepic, and/or about the opportunities there -- in Jesus, and Him in us. Let me know.
I'll be back in Southern Oregon the 27th to jump back into sub teaching, and to connect with high schools, colleges and community servers who want to experience this wonderful Mexican place and its people. Meanwhile, I'm available through my normal US phone, 541-621-7467 and email. I have so enjoyed growing in your encouragements. Please continue praying for me and the projects that God has given me to bless people with. Thank you! Bernie Weigand
It's not only the Casa de Niños kids' library, which you see in this video (click on the picture), that needs shelves, but the storeroom for donations needs 10x as many shelf units. The staff goes through the bags and bags of donations (mostly of clothes), keeps what the resident kids can use, and then has a biweekly bazaar to raise a bit of money and to benefit the poorer neighborhoods. There is a Home Depot here where we can purchase as many units as you feel you can support. Each unit is about $40 - $60. Let's get organized!
Projects still progressing
~ God provided two more healing miracles in the Children’s dining room that I reported on Facebook.
~ The new volleyball net you purchased for the Casa de Ninos is being used a LOT, and is surviving well, which is unusual for equipment being used by such a large family. Apparently, God thinks ALL aspects are important in the life of healing and raising world-changing children .
~ The Spanish Language lending libraries I started years ago in local congregations are now being administered by their own people through a simple WhatsApp group we have been working out. The list of books has links in the titles to where the books are described and for sale. If you care to buy more books for the libraries, have them shipped to my address.
~ The little daily English class I’m leading for some of the kids in the Casa de Niños elementary school this month is more fun than I ever imagined, and they’re really learning how to speak!
~ Gus the bus is being healed, and I just found out how He can be insured! He might even get full legal status soon.
Casa Grace now has a hot water heater and a washing machine, so your comforts are assured. AND, Dave and Barbara of Fishin Mission Adventures will be able to use it once a week or so for the town trips.
