ARPA-E’s “transformative” ammonia synthesis technologies
By Trevor Brown on 10/28/2016
The US Department of Energy's Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA-E) is funding projects with a view to commercializing low- and zero-carbon ammonia synthesis technologies. Grigorii Soloveichik, ARPA-E Program Director, described the aims and challenges of his agency's initiative and introduced the technologies currently in development in his keynote presentation at the recent NH3 Fuel Conference, in September 2016.

Ammonia in Internal Combustion Engines
By Stephen Crolius on 10/28/2016
Eddie Sturman, noted inventor and co-founder of Sturman Industries, has been developing ammonia internal-combustion-engine (ICE) technology for several years – "at least six, maybe more." At the 2016 NH3 Fuel Conference, he provided the most in-depth look so far at the results of Sturman Industries' R&D program. Editor’s Note

October 28, 2016

Welcome to the fourth edition of Ammonia Energy News.

This newsletter is a joint effort between the Global NH3 Fuel Federation (the international offshoot of the NH3 Fuel Association) and my own independent website, "Ammonia Industry," which provides data on ammonia plant construction and capacity expansions, and agitates for sustainable technologies.

Where these efforts overlap is on the subject of sustainable ammonia synthesis, which is why this and future updates include articles from "Ammonia Industry."

Please keep sending us tips for future newsletters.

You can e-mail each of us at tb@ammoniaindustry.com or scrolius@ammoniaenergy.org.

Thanks for reading,
  T.
