Vale Peter de Vries

We were saddened to learn of the passing of RGYC 50 Year Member Peter de Vries on the 30th December, 2022. Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter's family and friends at this time. Peter joined RGYC in 1967, a Member for over 55 years.

Vale Josef Bucek

We were also saddened to hear of the passing of Josef Bucek aged 94, in recent days. Josef was a member of our club for many years and was instrumental in the coaching and development of our cadet sailing program over many years. We pass on our sympathies his wife of 69 years, Addy, sons Frant, Yvor and Jender and daughters Addy and Sophie (dec) and their families.

The Festival of Sails pre-event Working Bee will again be taking place on Saturday 21 January from 8am – coordinated by Past Commodore Harry Farnell.  We encourage members to come along and lend a hand to ensure our Club is in great shape to welcome the large fleet to our Club.  Morning tea and refreshments will be provided once the mornings work is complete.
Festival of Sails Passage Race - Transfer Bus

RGYC will be running a bus from Geelong to Williamstown, Docklands, St Kilda & Brighton (as required) for crew needing to get to Melbourne for the start of the Passage Race. The bus will depart from Brougham Street, (in front of the old Council Building) Geelong on Thursday 26th January, 2023 at 5:30am sharp. Passengers can board from 5:15am.

Members are reminded that parking of cars within the club grounds is not permitted overnight, Saturdays and Sundays and Wednesday and Fridays after 3:00pm.
Members need permission from the Marina manager to park within the grounds at any time. It is important that we manage and limit car parking in and around the club, particularly with the current constrained space that we have available. it is also critical that we maintain, at all times, access for emergency vehicles and special deliveries, including the supply of fuel to our fuel dock.
Your co-operation in this request is appreciated.
