Floods, scientists, war highlight risks

This month, there were two stark reminders that physical climate risk is a highly material sustainability topic for the Australian dairy industry.

The floods in Queensland and New South Wales and a climate assessment from the United Nations warn us yet again that action is required to deal with increasing climate risks to the global food chain.

Add the war in Ukraine, and those dairy companies doing business with Russia also have an ethical dilemma.

Be assured, the environmental and social impacts from food production are a constant focus for the Australian dairy industry.

Floods, climate update sound warning

A warning from scientists in a new assessment from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that urgent climate action is required will come as no surprise to 100 dairy farmers whose livelihoods have been ravaged by floods.
