English Heritage will unveil a blue plaque to Charlie Chaplin at Glenshaw Mansions on Brixton Road on June 14th at 2 pm. The unveiling will be followed by a special screening of three short films. Comedian Paul Merton will introduce Kid Auto Races at Venice (1914), The Pawnshop (1916) and A Dog’s Life (1918) at the Ritzy Cinema. The first two films will feature live accompaniment.
All are welcome at the unveiling and are encouraged to dress up as Chaplin's iconic Tramp character. Tickets to the screening can be purchased here.

As reported in Variety, Bidibul Productions and Superprod are working on a licensed animated adaptation of Charlie Chaplin's The Kid by Christian Volckman.
Passion Pictures have announced the production of a new feature length documentary about Charlie Chaplin, under licence from Roy Export and MK2, to be directed by a multi-BAFTA nominated team. They would love to hear from you if you own or know about any film of Charlie Chaplin or audio of him speaking that is not owned by the Chaplin family or rights holding companies. Starting in July, Modern Times will be available on Air France flights for nine months.

John Wright Dolls has just taken out a licence to create limited edition hand-crafted collectible dolls. Another new licensee, Protocol SL, is working on development of plastic and tin wind-up clockwork figurines of the Tramp character. Infinite Statue are at the design stage of a second collectible Chaplin figurine after the sell out success of their first one. Chaplin's World - First Anniversary
On April 16th, to celebrate the first anniversary of Chaplin's World by Grévin and Chaplin's 128th birthday, 662 fans set a world record for the biggest gathering of people dressed as Chaplin's Little Tramp. After a group picture, the Tramps set out on an Easter egg hunt in the garden of the Manoir de Ban, the former Chaplin family home. See our Photo Album for pictures of the event.
Chaplin's World is hosting Swiss filmmaker Eileen Hofer's exhibition Tomorrow the Birds Will Sing from July 17th to August 17th, 2017, sponsored by Jaeger-LeCoultre.
On June 9th, the Archives de Montreux are holding an Open Day. Visitors will be able to see where the Chaplin archives are stored, and discover some amazing documents specifically chosen to be shown on this day. The Montreux archives also hold many regional treasures and several archives from the area's other prestigious residents.
The Cinémathèque Française's current exhibition called "Mômes et Cie" ("Kids and Co.") includes photographs from our archives from The Kid, The Circus and Modern Times. They held a special screening of The Kid in May.
New Books and Magazines
Shinchosha Publishing Co., Ltd. have published a new Japanese edition of My Autobiography - Early Years. Chaplin's novella "Footlights" and David Robinson's "The World of Limelight" are also available in Japanese from publisher Shueisha.Call Me Edouard have released Pierre Smolik's book on the history of Chaplin's Swiss home, Le Manoir de Ban: Birth of a Paradise. Brazilian publisher Editora Ftd. are releasing a children's book based on City Lights, Charles Chaplin: Um tesouro em preto e branco.

Robert De Niro was awarded the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Chaplin Award on May 8th.
The Premio Charlot awards ceremony in Salerno, Italy will take place in late July. Eugene Chaplin will be attending this year.
The Opéra National du Rhin will be performing Mario Schröder's licensed Chaplin ballet in Strasbourg and Mulhouse, France in early 2018.
