Leggere il Dehon
Dopo molti anni di lavoro al Centro Studi Dehoniani, nel dicembre scorso p. Rafael Gonçalves da Costa è ritornato in Portogallo. In una breve intervista alla rivista “Dein Reich Komme” ci parla su come leggere il Dehon. Evoca la passione di Dehon nei discorsi, la precisione nelle opere sociali, sottolinea che nei manoscritti di Dehon raramente si trovano correzioni, tanto era concentrato il fondatore nello scrivere. Fede e misericordia in Dehon
Nel quadro di una formazione permanente della provincia ITS, l’8 marzo scorso il p. Stefan Tertünte, direttore del CSD, ha tenuto una conferenza a Bologna intitolata “Fede e misericordia in Dehon”. Prima ancora di percorrere gli scritti del Dehon alla ricerca del tema ‘misericordia’, bisogna farsi un’idea del modo di credere del Dehon. Dehon scopre un Dio appassionato, concreto, relazionale, il cui amore diventa, in nome della misericordia, dono di se stesso che salva, perdona, guarisce. Ecco il testo italiano.

Leggere Dehon in portoghese
Le possibilità di leggere il Dehon in portoghese, per coloro che lo desiderano, sono ormai molte. Navigando, infatti, nel sito dehondocs.it/international, si potrà trovare una vasta gamma di opere del fondatore tradotte in portoghese. Siano esse i diari, gli scritti spirituali o sociali, la ormai grande varietà dei testi tradotti dà la possibilità anche al lettore di lingua portoghese di farsi un’idea della persona del Dehon e dei suoi molti impegni. Di recente sono state aggiunte le conferenze del Dehon, che compongono il libro “La Rénovation Social Chrétienne”.

16 svizzeri al CSD
Nel quadro di un seminario sul “Lavoro storico in archivi e centri studi a Roma”, 16 studenti, assistenti accademici e professori dell’Università di Friburgo/Svizzera, si sono recati, durante una mattinata, alla nostra Casa Generalizia per visitare in particolare il Centro Studi Dehoniani e i progetti digitali che esso porta avanti. Sono rimasti stupiti dalla qualità del progetto dehondocs che secondo il parere di alcuni è fra i più avanzati nell’ambito della pubblicazione di fonti online.

Lettura teologica di Dehon
Marcello Neri, attualmente professore incaricato di Teologia cattolica presso l’Università di Flensburg (Germania) e docente invitato presso il Centro per le Scienze Religiose di Trento, ha pubblicato nelle EDB un nuovo libro intitolato “Giustizia della misericordia – Europa, cristianesimo e spiritualità dehoniana”. Neri, dietro richiesta della provincia ITS, in questi ultimi anni ha lavorato su una lettura teologica contemporanea degli scritti del nostro fondatore. Il risultato pubblicato ora ci offre spunti nuovi non solo per capire Dehon, ma anche per capire l’identità e vocazione dehoniana oggi. Una recensione seguirà nella prossima edizione di Dehoniana. "Reading" Dehon
Fr. Rafael Gonçalves da Costa returned to Portugal this past December after working at the Dehonian Study Center (CSD) for many years. He spoke to us in a brief interview with “Dein Reich Komme” about “reading” Dehon. He reminded us of Dehon’s passion in his talks, his precision in his social works and emphasized that in Dehon’s manuscripts there is rarely evidence of any corrections – so focused was the Founder on his writing. At the end Fr. Rafael also answered a question about what work of Dehon serves as the best introduction to his spirituality and his thought: without the slightest hesitation, Fr. Faith and Mercy in Dehon
During a program of ongoing formation for the North Italian province on March 8, Fr. Stefan Tertünte, Director of the CSD, presented a talk called “Faith and Mercy in Dehon.” Before attempting to review the writings of Dehon to research the topic of “Mercy” one needs to have an idea of Dehon’s belief system. Dehon sees a passionate God, real, and relational – whose love becomes in the gift of self that saves, pardons, heals – the very name of mercy. Here is the Italian text.

Reading Dehon in Portuguese
Whoever wants to read Dehon in Portuguese now has a marvelous opportunity at dehondocs.it/international. At present there is a vast array of works of the Founder translated into Portuguese. They include his diaries, spiritual and social works; the range of translated texts permits the reader of Portuguese to obtain an idea of Fr. Dehon’s rich personality and his many involvements. Added most recently are the conferences that Dehon used to compose the book, “La Rénovation Sociale Chrétienne.”

Sixteen Swiss at CSD
As part of a program on “Historical Research at Archives and Study Centers in Rome” 16 students, academic assistants and professors from the University of Friburg-in-Switzerland spent a full morning session at the SCJ Generalate to learn about the Dehon Study Center and its digitalization efforts more particularly. They were astounded at the quality of the dehondocs project that, in the estimation of several, was among the most advanced in the realm of online resources.

Dehonian spirituality - today
Marcello Neri, presently Catholic Theology professor at the University of Flensburg (Germany) and visiting instructor at the Center for Religious Sciences at Trent has published a new book called: “Giustizia della misericordia – Europa, cristianesimo e spiritualità Dehoniana” (Justice of Mercy – Europe, Christianity and Dehonian Spirituality) with EDB publishers. At the request of the North Italian Province, these past few years Neri has worked on a contemporary theological reading of the Founder’s writings. The published outcome now offers us new ways not only of seeing Dehon but of a better understanding of the Dehonian identity and vocation today.
