AAGIS Quarterly Meeting!
Thursday, November 3

12:00 pm - 1:00pm | Pape Dawson's Offices

Halloween is just around the bend!  Come to our quarterly meeting next week to see a scary good (see what I did there?) presentation from ESRI.  As it has been the for the past few meetings, this lunch will take place at Pape Dawson's offices and they will be graciously providing food for those that RSVP.  We look forward to seeing you!

GIS Day!!

2016 GIS Day – November 15, 2016
University of Texas at San Antonio

The 2016 SAGISDay will be celebrated on Tuesday November 15 at the HEB University Center on the main campus of UTSA.  The day is coming together very nicely and most of the plans are in place.  Come share your GIS world with area high school students by being a presenter, exhibitor, demonstrator, or volunteer for 2016 SAGISDay.  We are also currently seeking sponsors and submissions of printed maps for the map gallery, so be sure to email Helena Schaefer, the 2016 SAGISDay coordinator, for more information.   We need your help to make this year a huge success!
A Letter from the President

AAGIS Members and Friends,

Fall is here and I hope that you’re enjoying the nice weather. Fall is a busy time for AAGIS and I am excited to share these opportunities with you.

San Antonio GIS Day is only a few weeks away and we need you to continue the success of the event!  Every year we reach hundreds of high school students as well as college students with information on geospatial careers.  I hope that you’re able to join us to share your special talents with aspiring students.  If this is your first time, don’t let that be a road block. Contact us and we will get up plugged in! We still need exhibitors, classroom instructors, and sponsors for the event on the 15th.

Our October Quarterly meeting will be held in November this year.  We are excited to host our friend Katherine Smyth as our guest speaker.  Katherine is a solutions engineer with ESRI and will share “Upcoming News in the ESRI World” with us.  A special thank you to Pape-Dawson for being a great partner and providing us the space to meet.

November is going to be a great month. Come be involved in any way that you can.  I look forward to seeing you soon.

Respectfully,

Santiago Jaramillo
AAGIS President
