GIS Day Recap

What a successful GIS Day this year!  500+ students attended while 3 professional presentations were given and 25 exhibitors were present. The MPO and SAME were both recognized with a plaque for their continuing contributions to GIS Day each year.  Huge thanks to all of the volunteers and sponsors.  You were all superstars!  The next GIS day is planned for November 16, 2015.  See the pictures below for a look into GIS Day!

Letter from the President

AAGIS Members and Friends,

In this season of gifts and giving thanks, I’d like to thank you for you for being valuable part of the GIS community.  We wouldn’t be able to share ideas without professionals like you!

This fall has been busy in AAGIS with the quarterly meeting, happy hour networking, and GIS Day.  GIS Day is our biggest event of the year and was a huge success!  All of the talented sponsors, exhibitors, participants, volunteers, and classroom teachers did an amazing job educating over 500 students in the applications of geospatial technology.  The organization and execution of the event is no easy task, so thank you to everyone for your hard work.

On behalf of the AAGIS Board, I’d like to wish you and your family a relaxing and safe Holiday Season.  We look forward to seeing you at the Holiday Party on December 17th!

Respectfully,

Santiago Jaramillo
AAGIS President
