Issue 3:  Something to SEA for May 2016: Come Alive

Hello, Happy Day, and Happy May to you!

With the arrival of May comes my favorite time of year. To me, May is a giant exhale. We've made it through the barren, gray, cold winter, and are now on the upswing. Even today...as I type this, it is cool, dreary, and rainy, but it's not depressing. There's life amid the gray as the colors of everything coming alive shine brightly...all shades of green, pinks, yellows, purples, and blues. It's time to come alive and be filled with life. May is calming, exciting, growing, and living. The days are longer, the sun shines warmer, the birds sing louder, and the air smells sweeter.

"SEA"king My Soul:  I am earnestly noticing, analyzing, and following all of the signs that are continually appearing, sent by the universe and by a very special spirit. Those signs will lead me to Dublin this August, and I will see significant places with a new set of eyes. I am honored that my soul has been chosen for this incredible journey. I am beyond thankful that I have a dear friend who has signed on to accompany me. It's hard to describe how intense this entire chapter of my life has been so far, and it's going to get even more amazing. Signs are everywhere, and I am being guided by them! This is something I MUST do, and nothing will stop me. I am coming alive by following this journey, and I couldn't be more excited about it.

On another note, May is Lupus Awareness Month. I have both Lupus and Fibromyalgia, and I am often asked what Lupus is. I don't write much about my health, mostly because I don't want to bring my readers down, but for me, Lupus is something I have to deal with every day. It is debilitating, defeating, and frustrating. Some of my most active symptoms include extreme pain, extreme fatigue, headaches, sensitivity to noise and light, and face rash. To learn more about Lupus, please click here.

"SEA"k Your Soul:  How is the universe guiding you? Take some time to look around you to see if there are any recurring messages, themes, people in your life, posts, etc. Are they coincidence, or is something else behind them? Once you start to notice, perhaps your life will take an exciting new course as you veer off following a new opportunity. Be responsible and practical, but don't dismiss the signs. They are there. Enjoy our world and let YOUR colors shine this May!

What I'm Reading: I just started reading The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself by Michael A. Singer, as recommended by a friend. It's a best seller and has great reviews on Amazon.

Favorite May Quotes:

"The world's favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May." - Edwin Way Teale

"The month of May was come, when every lusty heart beginneth to blossom, and to bring forth fruit; for like as herbs and trees bring forth fruit and flourish in May, in likewise every lusty heart that is in any manner a lover, springeth and flourisheth in lusty deeds.  For it giveth unto all lovers courage, that lusty month of May." - Sir Thomas Malory, Le Morte d'Arthur

"Winds of May, that dance on the sea,
Dancing a ring-around in glee
From furrow to furrow, while overhead
The foam flies up to be garlanded,
In silvery arches spanning the air,
Saw you my true love anywhere?
Welladay! Welladay!
For the winds of May!
Love is unhappy when love is away!"
-  James Joyce, Winds of May

"Go ye to the graves and decorate,
Place flags for boys who have died;
Kneel down and say prayers for your loved ones,
But know they're still by your side!"
- Gertrude Tooley Buckingham, "Memorial Day—1945"

Closing Thoughts: Please remember the reason behind Memorial Day later this month. Honor those who gave their lives for our freedom by attending a local parade or service, or by educating the young people in your life about why they have a day off from school. There will still be plenty of time to go to the beach, the boardwalk or a barbecue.

As always, I'd love it if you share or recommend SoulSEAker's website and newsletter to someone you think would enjoy it.  Thank you for accompanying me on my journey.

Until next time,

Jill
