March 2021 Election Updates
Dear Democratic Party Members,
Attached, you will find the registration forms for the upcoming elections for the Democratic Party of San Juan County.
The first form:
is the registration to participate as voter in the precinct and ward level elections only. By filling this out, you are registering to elect members/people to be precinct members, precinct chairs, and ward chair (amongst other positions within the precinct and ward level). The deadline to register is March 17th, 2021 by 5:00p.m. The registration deadline had been put in place so there is enough time to verify everyone's credentials, who has signed up to participate as voter. Ballots (for the precinct and ward levels) will be sent out at 10:00 a.m. on March 20th so voting may begin and the voting will conclude on March 21 at 5:00 p.m.
In-order to be able to vote for county chair, for county vice-chair and for members to the State Central Committee, you need to be elected to the County Central Committee level. To be able to be on the serve on the County Central Committee, you need to be elected into the role of precinct member, precinct chair or ward chair. Therefore, to sign up to run for said positions, you need to file your statement of candidacy in the document below. The deadline to file for all positions is also March 17th, 2021 by 5:00p.m. Although, if you miss the deadline to file your statement of candidacy, there will still be a slot provided on the ballots for write-in candidates so you may still run.
Only after the Ward and Precinct member elections conclude will the ballots to elect the County Chair, County Vice-Chair and members to the State Central Committee, be sent out to the newly elected County Central Committee on April 3rd, 2021. Voting will take place the same weekend. Please keep in mind further emails will be sent out as more information becomes available.
