Hello All!
Glen Arden is excited to announce that we will be having a Talent Show on March 22nd from 5:30-7:30!  We will be looking for all sorts of acts including, but not limited to: singing, dancing, playing an instrument, reciting a poem, a cheerleading routine, an acting skit, a magic trick, stand-up comedy, or a gymnastic routine!  If you have questions about other kinds of acts, please ask either Ms. Bumsted or Mrs. Harcharik.  Sign up soon, spots are filling up!

The auditions will be on February 16th, from 3-6pm in the gym.  Students will need to supply anything they need for their acts, including music, props, instruments, etc.  Acts should be kept to about three and a half minutes.  Students are allowed to work in groups for their acts if they wish!  In order for students to audition, they will need to have their parent present as we will not have a general pick-up time.  If your student goes to after-school, they can come drop by at their audition time, and then return to the after-school program.  Everyone will need to go home as they normally do on the day of auditions.

There will be two mandatory rehearsal dates for the Talent Show on February 24th and March 9th from 2:30-5:30.  We need to make sure we can keep the show within two hours and give students a chance to practice on stage.

Here is the link to sign-up for an audition slot:

A NOTE FROM MRS. BASSETT

My classroom has been fostering a rescued rabbit through Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.   Avalanche was turned out into the wild by his previous family and a caring neighbor captured him and brought him to the shelter.  He is a 7 pound Albino rabbit.

He was very scared at first, but has made a lot of progress of becoming braver and more friendly as he gets to know us. He has not shown any aggressive behavior and has started to come over to me when I go to his pen or cage. He is doing well in the classroom, but I think he would do even better in a home in a situation that he could get to know his people better in a calmer situation and have more opportunities to get more exercise.

I think that he is litter trained- I have been letting him loose in the classroom (under supervision) and in a pen in my house and he always uses his cage for the bathroom.  He doesn't like to be held at this time, but does seem to like to be petted and I think would be more comfortable being held once he gets to know you better.  I have heard that larger rabbits are calmer and this guy seems to be pretty good
with coping with lots of different situations.   His adoption fee via Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is $75 and includes neutering.  If you are interested in adopting this rabbit, please contact me at andrea.bassett@bcsemail.org

Thanks!
