Welcome Back to School!

A Note From Your Glen Arden School Principal Mrs. Specht

Dear Glen Arden Families,

Welcome back to school!  What an exciting time for children and teachers alike.  It is so good to see everyone back in the building.  I love this time of the year when everyone is so excited to be here.

As we all get back into the routine of school again please remember to check your child’s communication folder daily for information from us.  If you need to change transportation or inform your teacher or school of anything, please place notes in the folder to be returned to school.  This is the best way to communicate with the school.

If you ever have any questions please feel free to call or email me.  E-mail is the best way to get to me quickly.

Thank you for sending us the best and the brightest students ready to learn every day.

Mrs. Specht
IMPORTANT BUS INFORMATION:
Due to the number of children riding our buses, we cannot permit students to ride a different bus other than their assigned bus.  If they are going to someone's house for a playdate, they need to be car riders.  In the case of extreme emergency, please call Mr. Lister.
Counseling Connection:
What a privilege to be selected to follow in Fran Hensley’s footsteps as counselor to Glen Arden Elementary School!  I look forward to getting to know the students and families.  I have served as counselor for Cane Creek Middle School since it’s opening in 2000, so this is a very big change for me.  Though I loved my time working in the middle school, I’m enjoying getting used to the smaller furniture and the precious smiling faces that greet me each day.

This summer, I had lots of fun working to prepare my “classroom” for students.  What a wonderful space to explore the world of social emotional, career and academic development with my students.  I will be presenting lessons to 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders every other week, and kindergarten and 1st graders every week.
