New Zealand Representative Challenge
The inaugural New Zealand Representative Challenge is scheduled to take place on 1st February 2016. This is a chance to compete against the other representative areas around New Zealand. Each team is made of 12 athletes, made up of 6 male and 6 female. These teams will contest small craft, swim and beach events. If this sounds like an event you would love to be a part of please contact your Club’s Sporting Coordinator to register your interest. The Local Sport Committee will announce the selection criteria shortly so athletes can understand how the team will be selected.

This event is a user pays carnival that will be run the day after the Eastern Regional Championships. Otago has agreed to select a youth team to take part in the New Zealand Representative Event based on the athletes attending the Eastern Region Championships on the 30th and 31st of January, and will therefore be looking for a coach, manager and selector for the team. These roles will ideally be filled by members in the Otago/Southland region. Please note that attendance of an Otago youth team at this event also aligns with organisations such as the Skeggs Foundation who fund the development of Otago athletes on the national and international stage. This is another reason why the Otago/Southland area has made the commitment to attend this event with a youth team.

For more information on this development please visit NZ Representative Events on the SLSNZ website.”
