Hello Everyone,

Well done to everybody who was involved in the eventful 2015/16 season!

This summer was much busier than the previous season with over 700 more volunteer hours patrolled at our beaches. Overall a summary of the patrol statistics were; 7,745.50 volunteer hours, 36 rescues, 35 First Aid Incidents 10 searches and 1,144 preventative actions throughout the Otago/Southland region.

This CSO update will fill you in on the transition period from last season, looking forward to the 2016/17 season with the first event on the Activity calendar commencing next month at Moana Pool, Dunedin.

In terms of Lifeguarding, there are a couple of courses coming up to continue up-skilling our membership and direct them through the pathway of a Surf Lifeguard.
