Dearest People of THE WALK,
When I was appointed as your pastor last year I was very honored, but I didn’t fully appreciate what God had in store for us. If I had been told then what all would happen in the year that has passed, I might have run the other way! But having experienced it with you, I now give thanks to God for this year. I will always give thanks to God for our time together and for each of you.
Thank you for graciously welcoming a rusty preacher back into ministry after a nine-year break, and lovingly reminding me why I had been a pastor in the first place.
Thank you for your willingness to struggle (hard!) to discern God’s will for THE WALK, ultimately finding out that God’s vision was so much grander than anything we could have imagined. I’m not surprised, are you?
We praised God in Word and song in a sacred worship space – Let us give thanks for the many years of ministry at 485 Brightwood Church Road and the memories we can all take with us of the blessing that we received praising God each week.
We also celebrated the Lord’s Supper and engaged in BE CHURCH together, joining in Holy Communion as a church dedicated to sharing Jesus Christ with the world. Praise God for that!
There’s no need to say goodbyes, because regardless of where our faith journeys take us, the Apostle Paul reminds us we will remain together:
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.
May God’s grace and peace be with you always in Jesus Christ.
