Next months Monthly AGS Competition topic

Room of Fear

Guidelines were set by: HanaIndiana

Halloween is my favorite time of year, so I'm excited to be able to pick the October theme!

This month, your game needs to feature one (or more) of your OWN fears.

If you are working as a team, you can choose to include a fear from everyone, or just one, it's up to you.

But wait, there's more :O
As an extra challenge, the game must take place in just ONE ROOM. Title screens, credits and cut scenes don't count towards the "one".

Now don't be scared, you can do it!

The Imitation Game by Creamy
Rumour has it that famous Director Henry Poff has stolen lines from 5 AGS games for his last film noir.
Can you find which lines correspond to which game?

1) Blackwell Deception
2) I Can't Sleep In Silence - It's Always Darkest
3) Murran Chronicles 3: Lifedrinker of Landsdowne
4) Skumring: Extra Noir Edition!
5) The McCarthy Chronicles: Episode 1

Solution will be revealed in next months issue.
You can discuss and write your answers in the MAGSAN thread on the AGS forums.

Golden Oldie with Dave Seaman
The Journey Down: Over the Edge
by SkyGoblin

With the third and final chapter of the commercial release of The Journey Down released on 21st of this month (get it on steam), it seems fitting to hurtle back in time to 18th August 2010 to see where it all started.

This is a game most of you will know all about, winning an unprecedented number of AGS awards, as soon as you start playing it’s easy to see why – from the lovely classic LucasArts style graphics to excellent music, from the engaging characters and hilarious writing to ingenious puzzles, it is still, 7 years on, a shining example of what an AGS game can be.

If by some chance you haven’t yet played it I can’t recommend it enough – even if you’ve already played the commercial release of Chapter One!  I am convinced that Bwana and Kito will go down in history as being just as iconic in the adventure game world as Zak McKraken, Guybush Threepwood, Graham of Daventry, Roger Wilco and the like.

Go on history, I dare you to prove me wrong!
