The AGS Awards

The AGS Awards 2016 are right under way. They are like the Oscars of AGS but YOU can nominate and vote yourself!

It's time to play the games that were released last year and decide on your favourite. Nominations will start in the next few days.
Did you make a game in 2016? Hurry up, there is still some time to post in the "For Your Consideration" thread to get some additional publicity.

Golden Oldie with Dave Seaman
Stargate Adventure
by Sektor 13

Imagine if someone had made a lovingly crafted retro pointandclick based on the TV series "Stargate SG-!"?  Oh wait, you don't have to imagine it - someone did, and way back in 2005 as well!

This game is great for fans of the game but don't worry, you don't particularly need to be an SG-1 fan to enjoy this game.  There's so much atmosphere and attention to detail here you that it almost competes with The Dig.  I'm pretty sure anyone who has even the remotest liking for science fiction and adventure games will enjoy this immensely.

I did mean to play through it again but sadly didn't have time, but I remember it being a pretty decent challenge and a good length too.  For its time it's an immensely impressive AGS game, and thankfully didn't get hit with a C&D.  If you've never played it, do yourself a favour and download it!

The Eternal Night
by Dos4/GW

Unfortunately, this game was abandoned by its author, Dos4/GW, in favour of a new project. I say "unfortunately" because the bit of this game that exists is really very good.

You play as a hotel clerk on the night shift. Some odd guests reside in the hotel's rooms and before long, stuff starts hitting the fan. The visuals are basic but clean and simple, with some nice touches of animation. The story was only just getting started and I was disappointed to reach the end before it went up a gear in wierdness.

The puzzles are my favourite part of the game. They are intuitive, not too difficult and most importanly, fun.

The fact that this game never really got to be a game at all is probably why The Eternal Night had no ratings. However, check out Dos4/GW's new project, due for release soon, Midnight at the Celestial Palace.
That's all for today. I really want to abolish that list of games no one has rated but I can't do it myself. I'll be back next month with some reviews of games beginning with F, but until then, I need your help getting rid of these Es:

El Burro
Enter The Story
Eyes of the Jade Sphinx
The Epsilon Outcome

Christian Miller a.k.a. SilverSpook
Picked by Peder, written by Ibispi

Sometimes, when one thinks about all that has happened throughout the history of humankind, one has to wonder - what awaits us? Will the past events repeat themselves or will it be so different - due to the rapid advancement in technology - that we cannot comprehend it? It is merely a faint vision of something akin to the evolution of technology we have experienced so far and the knowledge we obtained throughout millennia. Mr. Miller shares the same vision and he wants to show it to us through the video game he is making called Neofeud.

Neofeud is a science fiction game in a blade-runneresque world. There are robots, hybrid species and humans all living together and things are bound to go wrong. The protagonist entangles himself into a conspiracy that can destroy the world. Does the world get destroyed? There's only one way to find out...
Play the game!... but it's not out yet so... support the developer, this is his Patreon page https://www.patreon.com/neofeud

Try to play it when it's released - before the world ends.
