2. ALERT: Workflow task emails from Archie - marking tasks as 'Done'
Message from Ursula Gonthier, Senior Community Support Officer, Membership, Learning and Support Services

The Community Support Team have been contacted by several peer reviewers, reporting that they are unable to submit comments or mark their peer review task as ‘Done’; as they receive an error message when they click on the ticket link in their Archie task email.

This is a known issue, and the Archie Support Team have prioritised investigating it. In the meantime if any peer reviewers, or other users completing Archie tasks, contact us, we are letting them know that we are aware of this issue and advising them to email comments directly to the editorial base with a request to mark the task as completed on their behalf.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused, and we will be back in touch as soon as we have any news on a planned fix for this. Please contact
support@cochrane.org if you have any queries. Please feel free to direct any user queries to the Community Support Team also.
3. Editorial and Publishing Policy Resource (EPPR) updates
- Authorship and contributorship
A new section on how to deal with an author changing affiliations during the preparation of a review has been added to
Change in author affiliation.

- Cochrane peer review policy
The following has been added under section 2
Type of peer review: Consumer peer reviewers are exempt from the named peer review process, and may remain anonymous if they wish to do so.
4. RevMan Web
- Best practice suggestions for editing reviews
To avoid any issues with checking in reviews in RevMan please follow these best practice guidelines for editing reviews:
1. Access the review via My Reviews in RevMan 5.
2. Check the review shows as 'Available' in My Reviews before trying to check out.
3. Always choose to 'Check out' the review (not 'Download').
4. When the review is open in RevMan 5, check that the notifications in the bottom right-hand corner of the RevMan window display as follows: 'Status: Checked out; Version: Latest version'.
5. Always check in the review at the end of each editing session.
6. If any problems are experienced, email support@cochrane.org with a screenshot of the full screen, showing both the error message and the timestamp on the PC (do not email the review file to another author) (edited).

The RevMan Web team have experienced an increase in these issues because Archie has been down more than usual. Please note that this would also cause Check in issues.

- Adding footnotes for authors

In 'Review info', under 'Authors', select the author for which you want to add a footnote. Click on the arrow to reveal the author information, then scroll down to 'footnotes' box, where you can type in your footnote. Click here for further information.
5. RevMan 5
Message from Elizabeth Royle, Copy Editing Manager

Some of you may have encountered ‘jumbled’ or ‘overlaid’ text in RevMan 5 recently (see below):

There is a patch that will resolve this, which can be found here:

http://community.cochrane.org/sites/default/files/uploads/inline-files/revman-downloads/RevMan_5_3_windows-x64_Java8.exe
NOTE: This patch may cause a glitch when you try to adjust the names of Outcomes in the Data & Analyses section.  The solution to this problem is to click on the ‘enter’ button on the keyboard instead of clicking ‘OK’ when making changes, and then the data/heading is saved.
6. Cochrane Account login upgrade - changes in Archie

For further information on the login upgrade, why a new login system was needed, changes in Archie, managing user records and other information, please click here.
