Happy Winter!

NEWS

Winter's usually a bit tough on my energy level and outlook, but I've been keeping busy and (mostly) positive. I have some fun announcements:

Jeffree in the paperI'm honored to have been appointed to a 3-year term on the Washougal Arts Commission, advising the city on future public arts projects. At the official announcement at City Hall, I gave a little introductory speech -- and it was covered on the front page of the Camas-Washougal Post Record, including a photo!

My Washougal School of Music has been at its busiest ever, with up to 30 students a week. As I said in my speech (the article), I'm proud to get to serve the community in this way. Thank you Washougal! I've continued to develop my curriculum, my studio, and my library of songs, and refine my process. I've taught over 100 students --  from age 4 to 81 -- on 4 instruments, in styles ranging from classical piano to jazz ukulele to "melodic death metal" on guitar!
I'm told I'm a good teacher! :)

I've been playing a lot of piano, playing an hour weekly at Meals on Wheels at the Washougal Community Center. They really appreciate it. And I'm getting pretty good! I hope to do a lot more piano gigs, both solo and in ensembles. I've also been enjoying a new keyboard: the Roland VR-09, which features really nice tones -- including an extensive organ section, and synths -- and it's really portable and stage-friendly.

For the holidays we went and explored Arizona, including Sedona, Winslow, Flagstaff, the Hopi Reservation, and several marvelous natural wonders down there. View the gallery here.
