This Week's Bounty*:

green onions
peppers, hot & sweet
new potatoes
summer squash

* Saturday and Wednesday shares may differ slightly week-to-week, though we do everything we can to make them equal over the season.

For the record, we are in a true drought right now.  So of course, we would LOVE more rain.  Our drip irrigation system runs almost non-stop some days to keep up with our watering demands.  (Here's hoping Art Fair week comes with its usual (un)timely downpour!) However, all it takes is a stroll down to our Redwing Blackbird field to see that, in spite of these extreme weather conditions, the farm is in particularly great shape right now.

Our tomato patch is loaded with fruits on the verge of ripening.  Peppers, basil, and eggplant couldn't be happier with the weather. The long lush rows of our heat-loving crops look healthy and immaculately weeded.  It doesn't end there; the whole farm is feeling especially well-tended this year.  For this we have our great crop of student interns to thank.

In our second year of the Student Intern Program, 8 incredible humans have joined us throughout the Summer to learn (and teach), work (and play), and invigorate the farm.  Each has brought their own wisdom, strength, and positive energy to this experience.  And the farm is so much the better for it.  Some will continue their internships into Fall; others will be heading onto other adventures soon.  We're excited to see how this experience shapes those that follow.  For now, Kaitlin, Kristen, Miles, Jackson, Ani, Abby, Anthea, and Anastasia: we are beyond grateful for your contributions this season.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Member Volunteers!
Please get in the habit of recording your volunteer hours at the farm.  We have a space to do so in the distribution area.

We welcome - and encourage! - your help on Wednesdays and Saturdays for harvest mornings (8-noon).  Also, we'd love your kitchen scraps for our compost piles.  Feel free to bring them in and add them to the farm fertility!
