Garden Update & Upcoming Work Day
Our monthly garden volunteer days have been making incredible progress this fall!  October's work day extended to 3 mornings to construct the greenhouse purchased 2.5 years ago.  We are waiting on a few pieces from the manufacturer, but there is a structure!  Take a peek through the back gate. Classes have returned to the Food Garden and the Habitat Garden will also soon be incorporated in class curriculum.

Looking ahead, join us Sunday, November 6 8:30-11:30am, come when you can.  We will focus on the Habitat Garden, creating the crevice garden (lizard habitat) around the Peace Pole, erecting signage to keep teachers and families up to date on Habitat Garden activities, placing a natural watering hole for hummingbirds and insects and preparing the butterfly habitat for student planting of over 80 Monarch and Native Pollinator 4” and 1 gallon plants from Xerces Society.  Lots of activity, with jobs big and small!

Signup Genius with various support requests (including several truck delivery requests!!) is available here and our garden website has more details and photos on what we hope to accomplish.

Ruby Bridges to School Day - November 14
Six year old Ruby Bridges stepped into the history books in 1960 when she integrated William Franz Elementary School in New Orleans, becoming a national icon for the civil rights movement. Today, her story continues to inspire the next generation of leaders to end racism together, one step at a time. Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day will be recognized by the State of California on November 14th of each year. This day commemorates her historic steps and continues the movement to end racism and unify our communities. Click here to learn more.

Join other Proctor Terrace students in walking to school (or get dropped off near by and walk the rest of the way!) on November 14. There will be a limited number of Ruby Bridges swag for those who participate.

After School Enrichment

Winter options being added now, including Intro to Theater (TK-2nd, Wednesdays), Hip Hop (Grades 1-3, Monday), Art (Grades 4-6, Monday), Session 3 with Little Monsters Culinary (TK-6, Wednesdays).  Classes to begin in January. Registration information will be posted on the PTA website.
