Garden Update & Upcoming Work Day

Students have been making many observations about Autumn in the garden classroom this month. Garlic and fava beans were planted the last week of October, and we were able to get in a late planting of winter greens in early November. Last week we applied rice straw mulch to the beds for frost damage prevention and weed suppression.

Persimmons, grown in our garden, are still available for purchase! They are $0.75 each cash or check payable to PTES PTA. Send inquiries or preorders to ptesgarden@gmail.com.

Our garden is participating in the #SeedMoneyChallenge, a 30-day fundraising challenge and we could really use your support TODAY! In addition to keeping 100% of the funds we raise, we have a chance to win a challenge grant of up to $1000 from SeedMoney based on how much we raise over the course of the 30-day period, running from November 15 to December 15.

As extra incentive, SeedMoney is offering 50 $100 bonus grants to the 50 garden projects that raise the most during the first week of the campaign.
