SOUTH BATTERY PARK CITY RESILIENCY: DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT (DEIS) PUBLIC HEARING
THURSDAY, MAY19
6PM, VIRTUAL

We encourage you to join Battery Park City Authority for a public hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the South Battery Park City Resiliency Project.

What to Expect at the Hearing
After introductions, the project lead for the design team, AECOM, will provide a summary of the scoping process, a description of the purpose and need of the project, the alternatives considered as part of the DEIS, the framework for the DEIS analysis, an overview of the expected impacts of the project as outlined in the DEIS, and the operational and construction impacts during the project.

Then, once the presentation is complete, members of the public who have registered to speak will be given 2 minutes to provide testimony, and each speaker is also encouraged to submit those comments in writing to BPCA. Pursuant to guidelines established by the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR), the Authority will listen to public comment and provide formal responses after the comment period as part of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS).

This DEIS public hearing will be recorded and available to view on our website. Please note that the public may provide comments now through June 3, 2022 by emailing Claudia.Filomena@bpca.ny.gov or via regular mail to 200 Liberty St. 24th Floor NY, NY 10281 Attn: Claudia Filomena, Director of Capital Projects. After the comment period is closed, the project team will review all comments received, respond to comments, and include public comments in the Final EIS.
