REC-O-QUIP has been providing quality products and services to its African customers and surrounding islands through its strong distribution network to meet the its customer needs in the fields of Mining, Construction, Demolition, Marine, Civils, Agriculture, Forestry, Solar / Wind power, Industrial automation, Generators and Recycling of waste, paper, plastic, non-ferrous metals, rubber tyres and wood.

REC-O-QUIP provides the broadest range of products available from European countries: Germany, France, Italy, Holland and the UK, as well as the USA. We believe in partnering with our customers so we can provide them with solutions which help achieve higher levels of productivity and profitability by engineering the best systems for their requirements. This means studying customer applications to find new and better ways to create value.

With green power becoming an important part of supplying the African continent with cleaner power, technology is improving rapidly, enabling us to capture greater volumes of cleaner power using less land and delivering power to the grid when required through battery storage units. With advanced monitoring systems in place the power delivery is made simpler and safer.
Since last month REC-O-QUIP has been planning a new website which will include a vast database of products available for our customers to browse. We thought it helpful however, to give you an overview of the type of products we offer and the manufacturers we partner with. Find a few examples of the many available products below...

Kindest Regards

Hatz Diesel has been represented in South Africa since 1951. In 1986 Motorenfabrik Hatz (Germany) decided to establish their own subsidiary Company in South Africa. Hatz Diesel (SA) (PTY) Ltd has been active in all sectors of the market since Hatz was introduced to South Africa. The parent company Motorenfabrik Hatz GmbH was founded in 1880 by Mathias Hatz in one of the most picturesque parts of Germany, initially to repair steam locomotives. The company progressed rapidly and in the early part of this century they turned their attention to the manufacture of combustion engines. Realizing the efficiency of the diesel engine, in 1926 the company decided to develop their own engine. Since that date they have been one of the most successful and innovative diesel engine manufacturers in the world, receiving accolades from many countries for design and reliability.

The product portfolio of the business fields of Hatz Diesel extends from small and compact single-cylinder diesel engines with 1.5 kW to four-cylinder engines with a power of 56 kW. In addition to the compact construction of the single-cylinder engines, Hatz is known for the reliability and lifetime of its products across the entire range of services. All engines are produced according to customer requirement and specification and are also the only engine in this market segment to use air cooling, thus fulfilling the stringent exhaust gas regulations of the USA (EPA Tier IV final) and the EU (Stage IIIB).

The Hatz B series scores high marks in mobile and stationary operation with compact installation dimensions and in all applications with a power requirement up to 8 kW due to its low weight. Also in regard to robustness and lifetime, the series sets standards in the market. Whether on vibration plates or in the inhospitable environment of the Antarctic, the B series has been tried and tested a hundred thousand times in harsh surroundings.

The Hatz D series is best suited for challenging tasks. It is characterized by high power and the unique design in particular. Thus, with 11.2 kW, the 1D90 engine is the highest performance single-cylinder diesel engine in the world. A compensation weight on the flywheel side crank arm as well as balance weights cast in the flywheel ensure the special quiet running of the D series. Optionally available counter-rotating balance shafts even ensure 100% 1st-order counter balance. It doesn't matter where they are used; whether at very low temperatures or in a tropical climate, the Hatz 2G40 carries out its job reliably.

Since beginning of 2014 a new engine family extends the Hatz product portfolio: The H series. Starting with the 4H50TIC water-cooled 4-cylinder model, Hatz is relying on common-rail technology, turbocharger and external exhaust gas recirculation with the new generation. Hatz followed a groundbreaking downsizing approach, making the engine the most compact and lightweight in its class. The H series does not require a diesel particulate filter (DPF) in order to fulfill the stringent emissions regulation Stage III B in the EU and EPA Tier 4 final in the US.

Properties which distinguish the L series engines. The extremely long service life is attributed to the robust design. The high operation safety allows the L series engines to be operated reliably in remote areas or for applications without constant monitoring.

The M series is the mainstay among industrial diesel engines. The 2, 3 and 4-cylinder engines have been successfully established on the market for around 30 years – and they are still regarded as unbeatable. The robust basic drive train, notably the sturdiest crankshaft of all engines on the market, has remained unchanged since the market introduction. Thus running times of several ten thousand hours are no problem for the M series engines.

For over 25 years, Santerno has been the leading company in the manufacture of Solar inverters and has always backed its customers through the whole construction process of photovoltaic plant from planning to commissioning.

Santerno is currently supplying Paleisheuwel, near citrusdal in South Africa with our sunway stations manufactured at REC-O-QUIP premises in Cape Town, these stations are the heart of the operation collecting energy from the solar panels and distributing it into the grid. This solar park will produce 75MW.
Previous projects in Africa include KATHU also a 75 MW solar park, near Upington, northern cape in South Africa, providing power to 80 000 homes.

Iris blue, a new Santerno drive for pumping systems and water treatment, guarantees maximum efficiency and full system control.
In the field of photovoltaic energy Santerno has been a national leader in conversion systems for 25 years, with 2 Gigawatts of inverters installed. It offers a vast range of solutions for all requirements: single-phase machines for low power plant (up to 45 kW),three-phase for medium (from 10 to 500 kW), with input string box in low and hook-up in low or medium voltage, and integrated Sunway Station “plug & play” solutions for large plant over 400 kW.
Thanks to consolidated know-how, Santerno's in-house team defines and designs all the mechanics, software, control algorithms and power electronics. The products are devised in a modular key with view to customised solutions, since there is a wide range of integrable components. For worldwide utilisation, moreover, all Santerno solar inverters are built in conformity with the regulations in force in the various countries.

The result of experience gained in the industrial automation field, Santerno solar inverters are easy to maintain and guarantee continuity of performance for greater yield. The key to Santerno's success is product reliability, achieved by the sizing and quality of standard components, together with quality controls on design and production throughout the process, in accordance with strict international standards.

A global network and a complete pre- and after-sales service ensure that customer assistance is never far away. Through an innovative telecontrol system (Sunwayportal) users can obtain, online, plant information and updated data; as well as check the status of correct functioning and production at any moment to verify economic yield. Associated with the telecontrol there is a service of integrated string disconnection monitoring, in function 24 hours a day, with applications for mobile phones, web 2.0 services and notification of anomalies by text message or email.
