3 things for your Lent
Dear Friends,
It's Day 2! Does it feel like a long Lent already? No worries, we've got 40 days to get this right. Today I wanted to share with you 3 small things that can help make your Lent better.
1) Support for daily meditation.
Over on Instagram, I'm partnering with Sophia Institute Press to give away a 4-volume set of The Better part by Fr. John Bartunek. If one of your goals is to make a greater commitment to daily meditation this Lent, this series is for YOU! Each book focuses on one of the four Gospels and takes you through the entire thing, day by day with brief reflections and prompts for prayer. I truly love this guide to daily prayer and use it every day. It's free to enter the giveaway, so get over there now and do that!
2) Ready, Set, Lent!
On the Girlfriends podcast recently, I shared some Scripture passages related to each of the three components of Lent -- prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Together we reflect on each of these and consider ways God might be calling us to grow closer through them this Lent. Tune in and share your thoughts too!
3. Litanies of Humility and Trust
A couple of years ago, I made the commitment to pray the Litany of Humility and the Litany of Trust every day. These two challenging and powerful prayers helped me to grow closer to God in new ways each day. If you have not already decided upon a prayer practice to add to your Lent, maybe consider these two prayers. See what God can do for you through them!
How about you? In what small ways and through what small changes is God calling you to grow closer to him this Lent?
God bless you,
