Welcome to the first ever newsletter from!

Are you Wonder Woman? I am.

Okay, maybe not really. All I know is the other day on the highway, the kids and I were following a car with the license plate "WDRWMN" and I could not help but think:

"That should be my car!"

Whether or not we are willing to admit it, we all play Wonder Woman sometimes.

Maybe it was this morning when you resisted the urge to hit the snooze button, got your butt out of bed, packed lunches, made breakfasts, and kissed everyone goodbye as they headed out the door.

Maybe it was when your mother-in-law called and you picked up, you said "Yes, Mom," pretended you never heard that story before, let her know you would to drive her to book club later, and never let on that you felt a migraine coming on.

Maybe it was when your teen arrived home after a night out with friends and wanted to spill her guts about boys and girlfriends and all the stuff that really matters, just when you were ready to call it a night, and instead you poured a glass of something and said "Tell me all about it, sweetie."

Maybe it was when your preschooler wet his pants, as you were pulling him from his car seat to go into library story hour, so instead of browsing the magazine section, you spent the next 45 minutes cleaning him and his car seat in the parking lot while he shrieked that he DID NOT WANT TO WEAR RED PANTS, which were the only dry ones you had in the diaper bag.

Maybe it was ... you fill in the blank.

You tell me what your life is about. You tell me how you were Wonder Woman this week. All I know is that you were. Every woman is, and every mom is in particular. Think about all the things -- big things and little things, important things and trivial things -- every one of us accomplishes in our days, and let's just take a moment to bask in our collective awesomeness ...

I am thrilled to begin this newsletter as a way to connect with women from all walks of life, and I am so glad that you are giving it a shot as a subscriber. It is my hope that you will find this weekly note from me to be encouraging, informative, edifying, supportive, and fun.

It is also my hope that this will be an interactive experience. I want to hear from you! If you have questions or comments about family life, parenting, homeschooling, marriage, publishing, or more, I invite you to email them to me. I will be choosing some comments to share and questions to answer each week and share with other readers in this space.

Women need the unique kind of encouragement and support that we can only get from other women. Especially other Wonder Women. Let's use this weekly communication as a tool to encourage and support one another.

Thank you for being here. And welcome to a different kind of community!
