Seminar: Diaspora Advocacy
On 25 October, ADPC will organise a seminar with the aim to facilitate dialogue among diaspora development practitioners in the Netherlands on how advocacy can support them in achieving their development priorities effectively.

Recent Activities

4th Peacebuilding Workshop
From October 10-14, we held our 4th peacebuilding workshop with many African diaspora participants. The workshops aimed to provide them with the necessary tools on the peacebuilding capacities of diaspora organisations and that their activities on peace and social stability will be more effective in their country of origin. A report will be available on our website soon
Workshop: Capacity Building
This training for diaspora-oriented officials in Somalia was held in Addis Ababa from 3-7 October in partnership with IGAD. The training helped Somali government officials to learn from practical experience and expertise on migration and development. Keep an eye on our website for the report

Partnerships for Peace
On 23 September, we organised an interactive exchange seminar with diaspora organisations, NGOs and policymakers focusing on the challenges and opportunities in creating partnerships in the field of peacebuilding. Check out the video here.

Advocacy and Lobbying Training Workshop
The 4th Advocacy and Lobbying training took place from 5-9 September. In collaboration with The Hague Academy of Local Governance, the training was aimed at supporting diaspora development practitioners to design and implement lobby and advocacy strategies and to formulate their priorities effectively. With the help of various experts in the field, the training provided the opportunity for African diaspora within Europe to discuss and network with each other. A full report will be available on the website soon.
Partnership Building Meeting
From the 29-30 August, a partnership meeting was held with the Public Partnership Divsion of UNICEF. The main purpose of the meeting was to provide a space in which representatives from UNICEF and the African Diaspora organisations based in Europe can convene, establish contacts, consult and deliberate options for strategic partnerships in the foreseeable future. Stay tuned to our website for the report.
3rd Peacebuilding Workshop
In collaboration with The Hague Academy of Local Governance, this workshop took place from 6-10 June. The objective of the training was to widen and strengthen the peacebuilding capacities of diaspora organisations, so that their activities contributing to peace and social stability in their countries of origin will become more effective and enduring. A report will be available on our website soon.


New Publications

Good  Practices for Diaspora Engagement 
This consultation meeting in Addis Ababa on 6-7 June, provided a platform for senior policymakers and heads of diaspora units and departments to convene, to network, to establish viable networks and to build up strategic partnerships in the field of migration and development.
