New scholarship infosession at CNN Philippines
HFAA Philippines chapter leader Lorie Cascaro (Philippines, HKBU MAIJS ’15) led an infosession for the HKBU Master in International Journalism Studies scholarship. Held May 22 at CNN Philippines, where she is now senior editor, the event also included a CNN studio tour and a digital journalism training. Thank you, Lorie!

Silicon Valley Start-up - Jean Shen (China, HKBU MAIJS ’09) takes on a new role as Customer Success Engineer at Mode Analytics. Her role is to educate customers – mostly data scientists and analysts – about Mode products and analytical best practices, create end-user tools, and contribute to Mode's open source libraries and API documentation. Congratulations, Jean!
Panelists For Effective Work– James Gong (China, HKBU BBA ’13), Ching Wang (China, HKBU BBA ’12) and Anson Yang (China, HKBU BAIJS ’07) did an impressive job as resource persons for Soft Skills in Practice panel discussion facilitated by Phoebe Lu (China, HKBU BBA ‘14) last May 11 at the HFAA Connect: Shenzhen event. They shared their experiences as managers and how soft skills make a huge difference in keeping their team happy and productive!

International Trade Training for Journalists in Asia – June 17-20

HF Global Trade Leader Scholarship – Master of Science in Foreign Service at Georgetown University

The National Press Foundation with support from the Hinrich Foundation will conduct a four-day workshop from June 17 to 20 on all aspects of sustainable international trade. Journalists from Asia will learn from experts in the fields of foreign direct investment, treaties that shape trade, how the World Trade Organization works, China’s unique role, access to research and data, and more. The opening/welcome dinner will take place on June 17 at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. To learn more about this event, click here

Open for all international applicants, the Hinrich Foundation Global Trade Leader Scholarship will help talented young professionals who have been admitted to the Master of Science in Foreign Service program (MSFS) at Georgetown University in the fall of 2019 to obtain one of the most highly respected foreign service degrees in the world while contributing to the development of sustainable global trade. Let us welcome Eddie Cai (China, INSEAD MBA ’20) to our growing HF scholar & alumni community! Eddie is a recipient of the INSEAD Hinrich Foundation Master of Business Administration Scholarship and will begin his studies at the Singapore campus early September 2019. Eddie is co-founder and COO of 21Keg, which helps OEM manufacturers build brands and sell directly to end markets through eCommerce. Welcome on board, Eddie!
Congratulations to our graduating scholars Yen Nguyen, Abdul Rahoof, Charlee Delavin, Pheana Sopheak, Putro Agus Harnowo and Vini Dimayanti (HKBU MAIJS ’19)and Juliette Li and Lizzy He (HKBU MScBM ’19)HF team members Alex Boome, Thuy Ho and Carmela Delos Santos flew to Hong Kong to host a send-off dinner to honor their success. HF welcomes new Marketing manager
Eleana Collins joins the Hinrich Foundation team as Marketing manager last May 6. Eleana is based in Hong Kong and she will be responsible for driving forward our rebranding and website redevelopment projects. She graduated from the University of Virginia and has eight years of relevant marketing experience with two branding and communication agencies. Welcome to the team, Eleana!
