Hi <<First Name>>,

Research and common-sense show that understanding our emotions is an important ability for personal well-being and functioning in a community. However, many of us were not explicitly taught emotional regulation skills and can feel like emotions are swirling throughout our homes and community.

Educating ourselves supports our own mental and emotional health and empowers us to be the adults whom young people need.

This session will discuss concrete tools that teach emotional intelligence and promote well-being for adults and young people. Having a shared vocabulary around emotions is essential to young people’s development and enhances their ability to self-regulate, manage frustration, and practice effective coping strategies. It is also essential to create healthy, emotionally agile communities and families.

This presentation will provide:
  • A deeper understanding of social emotional learning
  • Discussion of emotional granularity and its importance as part of SEL
  • Practical steps to help young people navigate hard conversations
