PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN VISITS LORAIN, BUS DELAYS EXPECTED

The City of Lorain will be hosting President Joe Biden for his visit to the area tomorrow afternoon, making him the 15th president to honor our community with his scheduled stop at The Shipyards.

Please be aware that the President's visit may cause bussing delays in the afternoon, especially on the East side. First Student will use all of their routine bus stops, however, please expect delays. As always, our focus will be on the safety of our children. Thank you for your patience!

MASKING UPDATE | At Monday’s Board of Education meeting we received authorization to relax our masking mandate. As a result, masks will be optional in all district facilities as of March 1st. Learn about additional COVID updates below.

FOUR-DAY WEEKEND | There will be NO SCHOOL for students on Friday, February 18 and Monday, February 21.

Padres Comprometidos is a partnership program between Lorain City Schools and El Centro that brings a well-known parent engagement curriculum to the district to help foster stronger connections between the schools and parents.

Founded as a Latino parent program, Padres Comprometidos has been expanded to include all parents with both English and Spanish sessions and a curriculum that celebrates all cultural differences and economic backgrounds.

More than 300 high school and middle school students and mentors from Loudonville, Caledonia, Richfield, Richwood, Sheffield Village, Akron, Canfield, Bellefontaine, Elyria, Avon Lake, Parma Heights, Monroeville, and Lorain will unite at the Lorain High School Gymnasium on Friday, February 18th for the 2021-2022 VEX Robotics Competition game.

This is one of the last tournaments for the teams to qualify for the Ohio State Championships.
