LORAIN HIGH ARTISTS TAKE TOP HONORS AT COUNTY ART SHOW

Congratulations to the following award-winning artists, whose works were selected for recognition in this year's Lorain County Schools High School Art Exhibition. Their art was submitted for consideration for the award by Lorain High School Ceramics Teacher, Zita Smith:

• Emily Wilkerson: Best in Show and 1st and 3rd place People's Choice Awards

• Naila Dower: 2nd place People's Choice Award and Excellence Award

• Gianna Vasquez: Excellence Award and Honorable Mention People's Choice Award

• Samone Whitt: Two Honorable Mentions People's Choice Awards

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION NEWS

The Lorain Schools Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Association Award and Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on June 26, 2022.

The Foundation of the Lorain Public Library System, Inc. is hoping to raise funds on Nov. 30 during “GivingTuesday.” This day of generosity was created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good. This idea has grown into a global movement that inspires people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.

Did you know? The Lorain Public Library offers programming for all ages, and can be found on the Lorain City Schools online master calendar. Select all upcoming events and filter by “Community Partner Events” to view them all!

You don’t need an appointment. There’s no agenda, no presentation to sit through. Open Door Sessions are just an open opportunity to connect and learn from one another in a casual setting.
