I love it when a project comes together better than I had imagined! As was the case with the Magical Glittery Unicorn Tote Bag and The Creative Chat series that ended last week.
The tote speaks for itself and you can clearly see how a child would be absolutely delighted to receive such a whimsical bag.
In regards to the Creative Chats, which you may recall were 30 to 45 minute video chats on specific topics, participation was underwhelming with only 2 people logging on.
Obviously I had hoped more people would take advantage of this unique opportunity; but, I also believed this was a chance to share my thoughts on three topics I am passionate about as well as a chance to foster two new friendships.
Day 1 we jumped right in with a lively discussion about goals and planning, Day 2 we had a blast brainstorming online business models and by Day 3 we were touring our creative spaces and discussing the benefits of utilizing a platform like Google Hangouts. Then, just before we were to say goodbye, something wonderful happened and the conversation ran long as Laney, Sandi and I conceived the concept of the Sewspire Community sponsoring a Charity of the Quarter.
This new opportunity has so much potential and will allow the Sewspire Community to come together, just as the three of us did--to pool our collective energy and talents--to make a difference by supporting a charitable organization in a big way!
I know many of you are passionate about serving and giving back and I invite you to submit your suggestions to me via email so that I can create a formal survey and we can vote as a group to determine our first charity of the quarter to support September through December 2018.
I hope you will take some time to consider how you think we can come together as a creative community to help others and as always I thank you for your continued interest and support!
