Hey y'all and welcome to Behind the Seams with Andrea.

Because I had no idea what we were going to be sewing this week I decided to let the fabric tell me what it wanted to become.

While I am able to trust and let this creative process unfold, I recognize that may be difficult for some.

In the case of our Two Pocket Tote Bag, I had some beautiful remnants leftover from the custom planners I stitched up over the weekend and I loved the fabric so much that I didn't have the heart to toss it in the scrap bin.
You have to love the fabric or this won't work.

I set the material on the cutting table and just like magic the process unfolded simply and quickly. I didn't judge or critique; but, rather, just listened and then cut and stitched.

You must loose yourself in the process.

Creatively yours,

A poem to inspire you...

Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you
Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you.
If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here.
No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows
Where you are. You must let it find you.
