Now that the Global Flight for STEM has concluded and Dreams Soar prepares for the future, it is natural for the organization to experience some changes. Lyndse Costabile, who left her job last spring to support Dreams Soar on a full-time volunteer basis as the Board of Directors Chair, is stepping down to focus on her career and future. Lyndse has great experience and talent in the business and general aviation, and we look forward to following her path as she moves into the next exciting phase of her career. Lyndse will continue to support Dreams Soar as a member of the Advisory Council. Please join us in thanking Lyndse for her passion and hard work, and in wishing her the very best!

The International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA) held their Inaugural General Aviation Women’s Leadership Forum on January 25th in Boca Raton, FL. Shaesta was one of two keynote speakers at this important event, along with retired Air Force LtCol Christine Mau, the first woman to pilot the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter jet. You can read all about this successful event in AINOnline’s news article. Dreams Soar thanks IAWA leaders Jacquelyn Gluck and René Banglesdorf for including Shaesta in their inaugural event to highlight and support the amazing women in the general aviation industry.

Google's three month residency program, Howard West, which launched last year, went better than expected with 26 participants. This year, Google is holding this residency program for a full academic year! Howard West is designed to challenge and inspire young computer and software engineers at Howard University and other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
As the statistics go, Google is currently 31 percent female, 2 percent black and 4 percent Latinx. This program aims at increasing these numbers, especially with their new Vice President of Diversity, Danielle Brown. The second phase of Howard West will include more students from other HBCU's.
