KINBER From the Field - Salt Lake City, Utah

It's not every day you get to work on building the fastest most powerful network in the world. But last fall, Zach Bare, Network Engineer, KINBER and Jonathan Miller, Network Analyst, Franklin & Marshall College did just that by being part of the 200+ networking professionals, students, and vendor volunteers from around the world that get together to build the world’s most advanced network, run it for a week, and then tear it down at SC16, held this year in Salt Lake City, Utah. Read about Zach and Jon's "from the field" experience working on SCinet 2016 here

Community Spotlight: MetaMesh

KINBER is delighted to announce that Meta Mesh Wireless Communities will soon be connecting to KINBER's PennREN backbone as part of a KINBER Resource Pool Grant. Meta Mesh builds community wireless networks using mesh networking technology in the Pittsburgh region. Meta Mesh, KINBER, the Hill District CDC, and the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh are partnering together to bring bandwidth from a 1 Gigabit connection from the PennREN fiber network into the Hill District. This connection will serve as the neighborhood’s segment of the PittMesh Community Wireless Network, which will run along Centre Avenue and other targeted locations in the Bedford Dwellings public housing location. Please join us in welcoming MetaMesh to the KINBER community!
