Happy New Year Everyone…!!!!
A bit late but better late than never.
As trailed in the last Newsletter, we’d now like to launch our:
HERITAGE CONSERVATION ASSESSMENT
A Heritage Conservation Assessment and the necessary fundraising was endorsed at the 2018 AGM. The work will be done in partnership with Woking Borough Council (WBC) and consultants to ensure the community is fully involved in, and has a say in conservation measures for Pyrford.
The ultimate responsibility for conservation lies with WBC but lack of resources has meant no reassessment has been possible in the last 20 years. In any event, the best measures incorporate the views of the community and we simply want to ensure the heritage buildings in our area are properly recognised - sooner rather than later, and, before they are compromised by large scale development.
We will need to raise £12000 to undertake this work so look out for details of the following fundraising events:
PYRFORD BIG NIGHT OUT 2019 – 27 April
AN ENGLISH WINE TASTING EXTRAVAGANZA – JUNE TBC.
On other fronts:
Forum Committee - 2019
The Upshot Lane fields
Ian Whittle, of Wheelers Farm, is the subject of our latest Pyrford Portrait. This is now up on the website so visit http://www.pyrfordforum.org
and send us your comments on firstname.lastname@example.org
. That view of Newark Priory is to die for!!!!
The Regulation 19 public consultation on Woking Borough Council Site Allocations Development Plan Document is now over. Many thanks for your representations and support with that campaign. There is little to add except that WBC will now undertake some analysis before handing on the representations to the Public Inspector in June this year. This suggests an Examination in Public, by the Inspector, in October or November and final decisions by the end of the year..
Community Infrastructure Levy - CIL
We have now been told that £24000 has been accumulated for projects specifically wanted by the community. The Forum is working with others to understand what the money can be spent on and the approval process that will be followed. There will be more on this later in the year as proposals are agreed..
That’s it for now folks. More details of the fundraising events will follow in February including a video explaining what the Heritage Conservation Assessment is about and it's importance to us all.
