A PIPELINE THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF PYRFORD
This week has seen a surprise announcement from ESSO
The Company plan to build a new aviation fuel pipeline from Fawley to Heathrow and yes, you guessed it – one proposed route tracks across the middle of Pyrford - up the Hoe Valley, over the Pyrford Escarpment through ancient woodland on The Hanger and beside the old Rowley Bristow site. It tracks up Pyrford Road and turns down Dodds Lane towards the canal. See photo above.
The proposed corridor tracks through greenbelt right across our community and it’s difficult to imagine a single project that could have a greater impact on the community and the surrounding landscape.
Further details of the project, and how to respond are available at:
Very importantly ESSO plan a:
A Program of Consultation Exhibitions
in Byfleet on
Tuesday 27th March 14h00-20h00
at St Mary's Centre for the Community,
Surrey, KT14 7LZ.
Please join us on Tuesday when we plan to attend the Exhibition and determine more details of the project. Please make a note of this opportunity as time is short – the consultation period is due to close on 30th
April so there is very little time to organise and make your case to the company.
