I'm just back from holiday and I expect many of you will have seen or heard the good news about the ESSO Pipeline Consultation. In case you haven't, however, ESSO have decided to drop corridors M and Q as potential routes for the new pipeline in favour of G and J. This means they will be closely following the route of the existing pipeline and not driving it through our community. No pipeline across the Aviary Road field pictured above!!
This states over 1000 responses were received with 89% of those referring to corridor M being strongly opposed to it's use as a preferred route. The detailed comments explaining the choice of G and J and why M and Q have been rejected are well worth glancing through - see page 6 of the document referenced above.
Clearly we were effective in getting across the environmental, social and installation concerns we sketched out on our web site at http://www.pyrfordforum.org/esso-pipeline/
. So all take a bow for a great show of community resolve - well done. From us in the Forum many thanks for your support on this issue. Our response will appear on the Forum web site in due course.
It should also be said that we had fine support from our MP, Jonathan Lord, Woking Borough Council and our local councillors for which we are very grateful. Thank you too ladies and gentlemen.
Well done and many thanks for your support.
Chairman Pyrford Neighbourhood Forum.
