Hello friend!
How to follow self-isolation rules to the LETTER!
Monty is a competitive Scrabble player and a 4 Paws Permanent Resident fostered by Debbie and Mark Voisey on the Sunshine Coast.

A special care package from 4 Paws

It's pretty stressful being a human right now.

But our adorable rescue pets seemed to have adapted remarkably well - you could say they're thriving chilling out at home with the pack and providing emotional support to their humans. So we're doing a slightly different newsletter than usual. In this edition, our 4 Paws pets are giving back to YOU to thank you for your wonderful support.

Our 4 Paws team is based on the Sunshine Coast as well as other parts of Australia. Once you join the 4 Paws team you can never leave - even if you move interstate! As 4 Paws President Julie Penlington jokes: 'You can run but you can't hide...'

So we are sharing some photos of 4 Paws pets from our team of volunteers Australia-wide to brighten your day. If you have photos of your 4 Paws pets doing cute things during lockdown, please add them to our 4 Paws Facebook page. We will be posting more photos of 4 Paws pets to Facebook in the coming months to lift everyone's spirits. If you need even more inspiration, see how art lovers with pets have responded to the Getty Museum's challenge for people self isolating. A little silliness can be a wonderful tonic at a time like this.

We also need more foster carers at this time. Please scroll through the newsletter for more details.

For the safety of everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic, our animal welfare awareness and fundraising activities, such as our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle and Kawana Stall, have been suspended. While this is a tough time for charity organisations like ours, we have been touched by unexpected kindness. 4 Paws was thrilled to receive a $500 gift card from Bunnings because we will not be able to hold our fundraising Sizzles there until the current health crisis passes.

We hope you and your family stay well and enjoy the gorgeous photos of our 4 Paws family.

Better to be safe... even if it means pinching one of Mum's old masks...

Self isolating in a laundry basket really, really sucks...

Foster carers needed... Can you help?

Do you adore animals and want to make a difference? Do you have extra love to give? We urgently need more foster carers at this current time so we can continue to provide refuge to homeless and surrendered dogs and cats. Fostering can be a short-term or long-term commitment. But we're sure once you've tried it you'll be hooked. Foster carers provide temporary care and shelter for pets in their own home until a permanent home can be found for them. You can learn more about becoming a 4 Paws foster carer by clicking here or going to our website. To become a foster carer you will also need to fill out a foster carer application form and one of our team will contact you.

The welfare and safety of the animals in our care is our priority. We make careful checks to ensure pets are going to homes suitable for their particular needs. Usually a 4 Paws team member comes to your home to check on fencing and other details. But in this current time of lockdown due to COVID-19, our team of volunteers will work with you to gather the information via FaceTime or a video link.

Please think about joining our wonderful team of volunteers making a difference to the lives of homeless animals on the Sunshine Coast.

Our volunteers and supporters rock!

4 Paws exists to give homeless dogs and cats a second chance at life with a loving family. We are a fully volunteer-run organisation and could not do what we do without the dedication and commitment of our fabulous foster carers, stall and sausage sizzle workers, cattery and Carmichael House helpers, and other wonderful volunteers. Our generous donors and sponsors provide vital funds for vet care for animals that come into our care. And we are forever grateful of the support of Nicklin Way Veterinary Surgery and Sunshine Coast Council, helping us in our very worthwhile work with rescue animals.
