The Food and Health Network program at Rural Health Network of South Central New York is hiring a full-time Farm to School Coordinator staff position and a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA member with the Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Program.
Farm to School Coordinator:
The Farm to School Coordinator will play a key role supporting the growth and sustainability of farm to school programs in a multi-county region through direct implementation and technical assistance. The Coordinator will work closely with school and community stakeholders to increase local purchasing and access to healthy school meals, support regional farm and food system development, and enhance learning opportunities for students and the community. This position will take approximately one year to master.
The Coordinator will support the full range of farm to school programming, from farm and food business outreach and training through interactive learning opportunities for students. The Coordinator will also assist with broad program coordination, partnership development, program evaluation, and reporting.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, 40 hr/week position with benefits.
Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Program (FVRx) AmeriCorps VISTA Member:
The FVRx VISTA member will provide support for the implementation, evaluation, and expansion of a growing regional produce prescription program and other Food is Medicine initiatives. The FVRx VISTA will expand the capacity and impact of the program through coordination, communication, access to resources, and resource development. The VISTA will work closely with the FaHN Director, health care providers, local food retailers, and program participants.
