This Sunday we will hold two physical services in the church for which we need ALL attendees to register for contact/tracing purposes. We are delighted to welcome back Reverend John Murray who will lead both services. Please pray for Reverend Charlotte, who is undergoing dental surgery this week and next week.
Join us for a Zoom Bible Study from the comfort of your own home this evening and each Wednesday at 8.30pm. This season we are following a study book on the “Questions God Asks”. No need for any prior Bible knowledge, just join us for some great discussions as we delve into God’s word together! Click here to join the Bible Study from 20h30.
Sunday School & Youth Group
Sunday School groups (for 3-11 year olds) meet during the 10.30am service this Sunday - children should be dropped directly at their Sunday School class BEFORE church.
Youth Group (for 11-18's) this week is Sunday at 12.30pm via Zoom and Thursday evening at 7.15pm via Zoom - email for more details.
We urgently need one volunteer to help co-lead our 6-8 year olds in the Sunseekers Sunday school group (once a month - all material already provided). Our Youth and Children's Worker, Kirstin, goes on maternity leave this week! Join us in praying for God's blessings on Kirstin and Elliot over the next few months! However, we do need volunteers to help with Thursday evenings and Sunday morning Youth Sessions, especially on Sundays 11/10, 8/11, 22/11 and 13/12. Please pray about whether you can commit some time and love to helping with either of these essential ministries, and email us as soon as possible if you can help. Thank you!
On Sunday 4th October at 10.30am we will be celebrating 100 years of worship in our church building. Please come and celebrate! Please note there will be only one service that day.
Places inside the church will be limited to a maximum of 40 people however, there will be extra space inside the church hall, where there will be a live video link of the service. Please register for the service as usual (link will be available next week). The service will also (hopefully!) be live-streamed on our YouTube page.
Rev'd Canon Debbie Flack, our Area dean and past member of our church family, will be preaching at the service. There will also be a video message from our Bishop, The Right Reverend Dr Robert Innes, to commemorate the unveiling of our centenary plaque, and a speech from the Mayor of Maisons-Laffitte, Mr Jacques Myard.
We will have an opportunity for fellowship and to raise a celebratory glass following the service, giving thanks to God for all that has been and for all that is to come.
This Saturday 26th September, CYARA* are hosting an online retreat led by Canon Elaine Labourel on the subject of "Divine Encounter" - How the many parts of me can meet the many parts of God. Click here for more information and/or to register for this great event!
* CYARA (Come You And Rest Awhile) is a non profit association based on Christian values and whose core activity is sharing the love of God through pastoral care in its many forms.
We will be holding a Men's breakfast on Saturday 21st November and a Women's Breakfast on Saturday 28th November, both at 9h00 in the church hall. Breakfast will be followed by a short talk. Sign up sheets will be available closer to the time, but please do mark the dates in your diary, as we will hold these events virtually even if we are unable to hold them physically!
Reverend Charlotte will be starting Confirmation Classes at the end of September for anyone aged 13 or over who would like to be confirmed next Spring. Please email us if you or your child(ren) might be interested. Class times to be confirmed later.
We hope to have a Chaplaincy Weekend Away next year, so please save the weekend of Pentecost (21-24 May 2021) and pray that we will be able to go away together as a church family. Exact times, speaker, and location will be confirmed nearer to the time.
Stay in Touch!
Please click here from your phone to follow the link directly to the church's WhatsApp group which we invite our whole church family to join for extra support (and a few giggles) at this unusual time. We also encourage you to set up other WhatsApp, Facebook, text, email or other contact groups within your area to share, support & encourage one another.
Don't forget you can send us an email if you know of someone in need of practical help or an encouraging phone call, and if you are not in a position to help - we can and we will! We have a team of people who can deliver shopping or phone for support. Please check in with elderly and vulnerable neighbours in particular. You can call, text or whatsapp us on 07 67 07 77 20.
Financial Giving
If you aren't already a member of our church's Planned Giving Scheme and you would like to make a financial offering* to Holy Trinity Church, you can either:
- post a cheque or set up a one-off/monthly bank transfer to the church (free) - email us for more details
- use our new HelloAsso online giving page (adds on a minimum €1 donation to HelloAsso)
* tax receipts for French tax-payers are provided in both cases. We are very grateful for any donations at this time, as we know that we are all financially impacted by the coronavirus crisis.
